Who do I blame for Enkidu's Death?
In the story of Gilgamesh there is this man named Enkidu. Gilgamesh and Enkidu were originally enemies but then Gilgamesh realized that Enkidu could be useful for what he has planned he decided to have Enkidu help him. Gilgamesh wants to get wood from the cedar forest but there is a problem. That problem is that there is a guardian of this forest and to get some of the would they would have to beat the monster. After they did the gods got mad and had to get revenge. They were saying that "One of those two must die. Let it be Enkidu, Enlil decreed. Enkidu began to waste away. Neither brother wanted to lose the other." (Tablet Seven). The gods are saying that they need to take action and punish them for what they did so they decided to kill Enkidu as a punishment on both of them. This punished both of them because they were very close and neither brother wanted to loose the other. This is why and who I blame to gods for Enkidu's death.
