Should High Schools Require Student to Read the "Classics"?

           There are many good books in the reading world. In that collection there are many classics and most people still read the classics. Although this is true there is an argument about weather or not high school teachers should be making their students read classics. Through studies there is much reason that high schools should be reading the classics. The classics can prepare you for higher level classes in college. "Students who have read "classics" are better prepared for college literature classes, because they will have background knowledge of woks that other writers refer to” (Should high schools require students to read the “classics”?). H ow can you apply the concepts of academic writing to your own writing?           I can apply the concepts of academic writing to my own writing by using all the steps of the writing process to whrite a better essay. There are some steps to writing an essay that I have never done including identifying your audience. Although I never heard of it or used it in one of my writings it is very important because if you were talking to a younger audience  compared to an older audience they will see ideas differently and have different opinions because their life has shaped them differenty then it would shape someone who grew up in a different generation.  This could help me to become a better writer because all these processes and revising your writing multiple times will teach you how to write an essay properly and will improve how you work. Greek Mythology

What about Ancient Greek culture & values is reflected in their beliefs towards the underworld?  The values that are reflected in there beliefs towards the underworld in the Ancient Greeks culture is that they believed all souls end up in the same place after you die. Regardless what you do they all end up in the Underworld. Do you recognize any similarities between the Greek's beliefs towards death and the underworld and those which are held in your own religion? There are some similarities between my own religion and the Greeks beliefs. In both the Greek beliefs and in my religion your soul goes somewhere after you die. In the Greek culture you go through an elaborate process to get to the underworld and in my religion you go to heaven or if you were a good person and if you didn't follow God's rules then u go to hell. Accessing My Goal's

Have you achieved them?  I have achieved some of my goals. One of those gals being I have become a stronger writer. I have not improved much in baseball because I haven’t had much time to go outside and practice. The cold weather has also been an issue. I have improved in my carpentry skills by practicing and getting better.  Long Term Goals  I have not made any progress with my long term goals because I didn’t have the time and the weather did not allow me to go play baseball. I have made progress with getting better at carpentry and made a little progress with going to college by getting good grades.  List 2-3 subjects / interests you would like to major at college. Some majors are  engineering, construction, and architecture.  List 2-3 colleges you are interested in attending Queens  college and  Harvard University
